Heather and I decided to have a renegade FHE. We invited Jason and Cody aka Captain Amazing over to join in the festivities. We decorated in teams. If we were playing for time Cody and I lost for sure. But since we were competing for creativity we won!!! The roof has argyle on it. How cool is that? Kudos to Jason and Heather. They won for fastest by a long stretch.

AMAZING Season, Part 2

Heather and I went to SLC to see the beautiful lights at Temple Square. They were so beautiful. This is my 4th or 5th time seeing the lights and I am always amazed how the look. They truly do bring the spirit of Christmas. My part I love the most in the different nativity set they have on display. The Asian inspired one is my favorite, but I really do love them all.

I also got to see my nephew, the cutest man in the whole wide world. Heather and I took him to look at the lights with us. I think he loved it too. Who wouldn't loved snuggled up warm and pushed around in a stroller to look at magnificent lights. Lucky little man. Check out his sweet shirt too. My Aunt Rocks...Yep, I bought it for him. We look good together.

ENJOY LIFE!!! Rebecca

What an AMAZING season, Part 1

Life has truly been good the last month. Looking for all the good things in life truly does make your cup runneth over. I have seen so much goodness, happiness and love that I can only be reminded of the true reason for the season. Jesus Christ. How great it is to have a Savior. What a perfect thing to celebrate. Hope all of your holidays are going well.

Merry CHRISTmas!

Family Fun

The best part about being single is getting to hold the most handsome man in the photo. He is the most adorable baby. More of him later.

Chelsie's Family pics

What a super great family. They cooperated so well even thought it was freezing outside. The little man was so excited to take pictures with his house. Thanks for the fun times. Hopefully you love them.

Veterans Cemetery

This last weekend I went to the Idaho Veterans Cemetery for the TVT blog.
It was such an amazing experience. This might sound creepy but I love cemetery.
Because I believe in eternity and life after death I don't have sad memories associated there.
I love that each person buried there has a story-a mother and father, an awkward first kiss, and endless stories of achieved dreams.
As I peaked at the top of the parking lot the view of the valley was amazing. With the leaves changing colors the City of Trees was a sunset all itself. I felt so close to heaven. I made a comment to Jason(my friend who went with me) that looking at the magnificent view made me feel so small and insignificant but at the same time I felt powerful and complete. It was a profound assurance of who I am and that I am were I am suppose to be in my life.
What a beautiful place to be buried. Surely the view brings peace to the family and friends that gather there to remember lost loved one.

Pumpkin Recipe

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies...Amazing

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 (16 ounce) can pumpkin puree
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg (I use more)
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla and pumpkin until well blended. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; stir into the pumpkin mixture. Mix in the chocolate chips. Stir in the walnuts if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until edges begin to brown.

Try instead of chocolate chips:

cranberries(fresh or dried) and white chocolate chips,

cranberries and orange rind and a little fresh squeezed juice to the batter,

add a pecan to the top and drizzle with chocolate.

Let me know what you like best.

My Favorite thing....

Those of you who know me really well are thinking that this post is going to be about
Cheese. You are so close, really? Same color even, but the truth of the matter is I have this seasonal obsession with

PUMPKIN.

OK, OK, maybe...its not just seasonal.

I love all things pumpkin. Pumpkins, pumpkin color sweaters, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin chocolate chip bread, carving pumpkins, picking pumpkin, growing pumpkins, the dried curls on the end of pumpkin. I think you are getting my point.

Thanks to this great obsession I'm going to share some of my pumpkin things with you.
Lucky!

Heather and I went to a pumpkin patch yesterday. I highly recommend this.

Pumpkin patches rock!

What happens in VEGAS...

Vegas...lots of fun and a little work.

I went to a Vision Conference in Las Vegas this week for work. It was an amazing place. Lots of lights, amazing architecture, and shows. The best part was the further belief in myself being a beautiful person with out the perfect plastic body, $495 dollar Jimmy Choo heals or wasting hundreds of dollars to wake up with the worst headache of your life.

I stayed in the Treasure Island.

Most amazing Creme Brulee ever, EVER.

The conference was in the Venetian. Brandi and I self toured Planet Hollywood (funny story), The Bellegio, Caesar's Palace, the Mirage, the Wynn, Fashion Show Mall, Flamingo.

Sewing Fun

This is my new homemade camera bag.

I was super excited when I finished it because I made it without a pattern.

I love the fabric. I am going to make another purse out of it with a burnt orange lining.

This another bag I made this week. It is a hobo style bag. At first you think that it looks like your grandma old couch. Then it grows on you.
