Family Christmas fun

The Pioneer Tent Building in Downtown has an awesome Model Railroad exhibit. We stopped by and just happen to run into Santa. Keaton asked for a talking Woody at his Moms house and a police car at Daddys'. He is such a smart kid. We already have a talking Woody at our house so he needs it at his moms house.

For FHE (Family Home Evening) a few Mondays ago we went the Capital Building and saw the beautiful tree. It turns out that it was the tree from my neighbors house
when I lived with my grandpa. It looks so beautiful. It was huge.
I wondering how many lights are lighting it up.

While Cody was looking for a book Keaton built an airplane. Can you see it? ... I asked if it was a plane and an airport. He said, "No, its just a plane."

Happy Thanksgiving!

I know I haven't posted in a while. This time of year as the year comes to a close
I start reflecting on my goal and accomplishment. Sadly I start out with many great intentions and dreams but have a hard time following through with things even the simple things. I am here today. Here with a THANKFUL heart, counting my blessings instead of name off things on my to-do list. I have so much to be thankful for...

Family-I am so blessed to have a great family. Parents that are a great example of hard work, diligence. Two  strong willed brothers that teach me about loving unconditionally everyday. My sisters and her sweet family.

I have amazing in-laws, grandparents, a supportive husband and an adventure finding 3 year old. So blessed...

My job. it isn't my dream job but it provides for you family-our needs and wants

A calling. Primary Secretary. I love the testimony of the sweet children. I am amazed at the testimonies and knowledge of the gospel. I love being around the people that were most recently with our Father in Heaven.

Creativity. I might have a hard time accomplishing everything but I love dreaming.I have been sewing...maybe I should post pictures. I just finish sewing Keaton an apron for Christmas. I have 10 baby blankets waiting to warm a little bundle joy. (No we are not pregnant)

The Temple. The Boise Temple was rededicated last Sunday. It is beautiful. I am so grateful to have the temple open so closely again. Cody and I have been traveling to Twin. I have developed a connection with the Twin Falls Temple-I love it. I am excited to drive 2 minutes down the street. What a blessing to live in the Stake the temple is in.

These are a few of my favorite thought on Thanksgiving, word from our dear Prophet!

Do we remember to give thanks for the blessings we receive? Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love.

My beloved friend President Gordon B. Hinckley said, “When you walk with gratitude, you do not walk with arrogance and conceit and egotism, you walk with a spirit of thanksgiving that is becoming to you and will bless your lives.”

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

L.I.F.E.

Life goes by so fast. Holy Cow... April, June, July, August...Finally September...It is cooling down, leaves are starting to change, Christmas is right around the corner. Wink, Wink... I know not everyone has an affinity for "Elf Culture" like me. Wink, Wink.

We have been having a great time, a hot summer. The ward boundaries changed so we are in a new ward. Cody has been busy with school. Keaton is working on potty training.-I think we have mastered number one, now we just need to perfect number two. He is close, so close. I went to Girls Camp, sewed blankets and aprons and cut my hair.

Almost 3...

Well, it has been awhile since we have proclaimed to the world what we are doing, buuuuttttt here we go again.  Yesterday night, Keaton and Rebecca had an amazing time dying eggs, Keaton especially.  His hands were dyed blue, orange, yellow, he pretty much looked like a bowl of luck charms!

Which is completely acceptable because who says you have to dye eggs the traditional way?  I think that is why I love being with Keaton so much is because I get to see a world in a different prospective.  I get to see how a two and a half year old thinks things should be done, like putting your and in the dye to get the egg out and then using the wire egg dipper to transport the egg from the dye to the carton.

The first picture is of Keaton's hand and the second picture is the face Keaton game me when I said "Smile!"

There are more videos of this and other times at my YouTube Channel, CaptainAmazing86.
Until next time, have an amazing day!

The Little Man's New Lessons

In the last couple of months we have been teaching Keaton the most important things in life.  Things and activities such as how to make Bunny Milk, to pray, share, Jesus Christ, how to use a sewing machine, how to cut a Christmas Tree in half and most importantly that some of the best "Rocket Ships!" come from a galaxy far far away.  With these new adventures Keaton has been able to expand his vocabulary to the sounds of spaceships, airplanes, landing, taking off and flying.  I would have to say one of the best things about having a two year old (other than the dramatic expressions of love and frustration) is being able to come home and play with Legos and  other toys.
While I am teaching him these activities Rebecca is doing an amazing job of teaching home to bake food and desserts, sewing and using more of his words to express himself.

A very funny story about words and the differences between what we say and how Keaton interprets them is the story of the the broccoli and wrench.
Keaton loves broccoli, so one night we asked if he would like some broccoli and yes of course said "broci" (up until a couple weeks he was unable  to say "yes;" so everything that was a "yes" was repeated).  Rebecca asked him if he wanted ranch with his broccoli, to this we received a very excited, arms out, shouting/chanting child.  Keaton ran from the front room down the hall way and started to climb the stairs to his room.  Rebecca said that his ranch was right here (in her hands) and that he should take it to me.  Keaton comes down the stairs and pus the container of ranch on the table.  He then turns and runs to the stairs and goes up them.  With a questioning look Rebecca and I wonder what is he doing.  Well we just let him ran around upstairs and a few moments later he comes back down the stairs with two wrenches in hand!
When Rebecca had asked if he wanted ranch he interpreted this word to be wrench!  Go fig, seeing that Keaton probably had never heard of ranch before hand.  Well in the end we had a good laugh and Keaton got what he really likes with broccoli (and everything else), ketchup.

2012

Happy New Year!

I know that I promised post about Christmas but unfortunately I have been sick. Yuck is right.
The worst news is that I am sick again. That is all going to change. This is the year of health. I am going to
get HEALTHY. Not just lose weight but get healthy. I am going to become a super food eating,
veggie growing, 5K walking health nut.

I have other goals too but this is one of the top ones. Be more positive, focus on the small things.
Enjoy being a wife and a mother.

2012, Here we come.
